Lessons From Judas

A moment ago, I listened to a sermon called "Jesus and Judas" preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll. They celebrate their 15th anniversary of Mars Hill Church with a very sobering message that caught my deep attention as I was browsing through the web. Personally, in reference to Driscoll's message, I want to share with you the 8 lessons that he made in which we could learn from the life of Judas Iscariot.

1.) Sometimes you bear no responsibility for a person you love who betrays you and/or wrecks their life and shipwrecks their faith.

2.) Sitting under good bible teaching is not enough; you have to believe it.

3.) Being in community with Jesus' people is not enough, you have to be one of them.

4.) Leading a ministry is not enough; you have to love Jesus.

5.) An enemy of Jesus parading as a minister can lead people astray for thousands of years.

6.) Sometimes false teachers appear to be credible, loving, and generous to the poor.

7.) You cannot lose your salvation, but you can fake it.

8.) How your life concludes is far more important than how your life beings.

Here is a sneak peek of lesson #2 (below):

I do not know where you are at in your relationship with God. I do not know your heart. You know your heart better than I do, but God knows your heart better than you do. I say this because I do love you. Therefore, my prayer for you, brothers and sisters, as a type this with tears in my eyes, that you would take your faith seriously, that you would love Jesus, that you are a true follower of Jesus Christ, and that you will finish the race at the end of your life. I humbly submit to you, DO NOT BE LIKE JUDAS.
